What will BODYVIVE™ do for me?

BODYVIVE™ offers the core benefit of all LES MILLS™ programs: namely an enjoyable, motivating group fitness experience that delivers real fitness results.

Specifically, BODYVIVE™ is designed to deliver:

  • Improved muscular strength and endurance
  • Increased heart fitness
  • Improved flexibility and range of movement
  • Better agility and balance
  • Improved posture
  • Weight loss through elevated calorie consumption
  • Reduced risk of bone and joint degeneration
  • General wellness and 'feel-good' benefits

BODYVIVE™ is the latest exercise-to-music program from Les Mills.

It is a low-impact, 55-minute class, integrating:

  • Aerobic exercise for heart fitness.
  • Resistance training for strength and stability.
  • Stretching and mobility work.

Using VIVE™ balls and VIVE™ tubes, you enjoy a varied workout that activates and empowers your body.

Like all Les Mills™ group fitness formulas, BODYVIVE™ combines the power of choreographed moves, inspiring music and motivating instructors.  A new class is released every three months with new music and new choreography.

So describe a typical class
BODYVIVE™ consists of 12 working tracks, which provide a full-body workout where participants set their own pace.

Classes start with a simple warm-up and continue with alternating 'heart fitness' and 'functional strength' blocks, before a final block of core and restorative exercises.

The basic structure is fixed, but the moves and music will change when a new class is released every three months.

VIVE™ balls and VIVE™ tubes are used in some of the tracks because of the opportunities they offer to exercise the body in different ways, and at optional intensity levels.

Who's it for?
BODYVIVE™ is ideally suited to active adults in their 40s, 50s or 60s, who seek the motivation and benefits of low-impact group exercise that delivers results.

Who do I need to bring?
Bring water and a towel.  Wear comfortable clothing - yes, a T-shirt and track pants are fine. Turn up with the desire to get active and have some fun.

Friends are highly recommended!

How fit do I need to be to do BODYVIVE™?
First-timers do not need to be fit - just physically active and able to move freely.

We recommend that people obtain the advice of a medical professional before starting any fitness regime.

How often should people do BODYVIVE™?
There is no prescribed frequency. Les Mills suggests three times a week, in conjunction with other physical activities.

What type of music is used, and why?
BODYVIVE™ is choreographed predominantly to popular, mainstream music from the 1960s and 1970s. The music is easy to listen to and familiar to BODYVIVE™ participants.
